"calaMity" is the fourteenth episode of the second season of The Gifted. It is the twenty-seventh episode of the series overall.[1]

Synopsis[]

When one of the Inner Circle goes missing, Reeva intensifies security in their compound, but realizes that her plans may have already been exposed. Furious and paranoid, Reeva resorts to violence. Meanwhile, Caitlin and Reed consider using the serum to restrict Lauren's use of her powers, hoping it will help her as she wrestles with nightmares about the Inner Circle and her ancestors. And it's the battle of two extreme ideologies when the Morlocks and the Purifiers come face-to-face in battle.

Trivia[]

  • Clarice getting shot before going through the portal is strikingly similar to Reed getting shot in "eXposed", which also involved Jace Turner.
  • This marks the first live action appearance of Morlocks character Membrain from the comics.
  • Erg mentions that Glow was sent to their allies to be healed. Whether this is a reference to Healer, a Morlock from the comics with healing abilities, is currently unknown.
  • Sage thought to be a double agent is a nod to her comic counterpart.
  • The Morlocks being murdered in their tunnels was the premise of the "Mutant Massacre" storyline in Marvel Comics.
